UNA's Jameica York (11) looks to drive against the Montevallo defense earlier this season.

Everything went right for the UNA women's basketball team against Concordia last Saturday, and it was a long-time coming.
The Lions held Concordia to just 10 points in the first half and got 13 points from Kierra McCleary en route to a 71-38 nonconference victory.
McCleary, a freshman guard, hit 4-of-6 shots from behind the 3-point line to lead a balanced UNA attack. Sophomore guard Danae Lawrence scored 10 points and senior guard Shay Ashford scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tandra Inmon and Jameica York each scored eight points for the Lions, who were coming off a 71-60 loss against West Georgia.
The win gave the Lions (10-11) a much-needed boost of confidence heading into Saturday's game at Montevallo.
"Hopefully we can get it going," UNA coach Terry Fowler said. "That was also important because of the (one week) gap in our schedule."
The UNA men moved into a tie for second place in the Gulf South Conference East Division with victories last week against West Georgia and Concordia. Junior center Thomas Fraise, who missed the Concordia game with the flu, scored 21 points in a 101-88 win at West Georgia, which suffered its first conference defeat. Senior guard Quinn Beckwith added 17 points for the Lions.
Senior guard Casey Holt scored his 1,000th career point against West Georgia, and added a game-high 31 points in the 83-63 victory against Concordia. Holt has 1,034 career points, tying him with Joe Edward for 18th in UNA history. Beckwith added 13 points and junior forward Andrew Chesney scored 10.
Both teams are in action Saturday at Montevallo. The women's game is scheduled for 2 p.m. followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. UNA will play at West Alabama on Monday; the women at 6 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m.
