UNA's Student Government Association annually sponsors the Salvation Army Angel Tree campaign.
SGA Senate Pro Tem, Michael Clark said, "I've been involved for a couple of years, and I am really passionate about this project."
Students can pick up an angel in the Office of Student Life in the GUC, where the tree will be on display.
Individuals or a group then go shopping for the items that are listed, returning the items to the SGA office (during office hours) in the mesh bag provided by Dec. 7.
Clark said, "Come out and spend your time on someone else. Most students don't have a lot of money but as a group we can do this. The average cost is about $50 so a group could spend a little over $10 each. It really helps a child feel loved and special to receive these gifts for Christmas."
Clark also challenged UNA's Greek community to sponsor a child's angel.
"We have 40 angels this year, and when there are enough people that care, we can view our world as the positive community around us."
