UPC faculty advisor Amy Ellis made the announcement March 14, the day that Sister Hazel accepted the offer.
Sister Hazel performed in Flowers Hall in the fall of 2001, with Fuel and Dexter Freebish. This concert was widely attended by the students at UNA and also the community according to Ellis.
"We are excited about bringing a well known college favorite to campus," said Ellis.
The concert will be free of charge to attendees.
"We are very happy to make this a free show for our students and the community," said Ellis.
Sister Hazel was formed thirteen years ago, has released five full length albums, sold more than two million albums and played over fifteen thousand live shows according to their essential information biography.
Their album Somewhat More Familiar was a certified platinum album and their newest album Absolutely was released on October 10th, 2006.
UPC is also going to be planning an event in the fall because Sister Hazel did not cost as much as was expected As a result, there will be extra money in the budget for another event like this later in the year.
UNA students are looking forward to having Sister Hazel for their Spring Concert performer.
"I've seen Sister Hazel live before and they put on a good show, so I am looking forward to seeing them live again, plus it's free you really can't beat that," said Will Berry UNA Freshman.
The concert will be held in Flowers Hall. An opening band, which is to be announced, will begin playing at 7:30, and Sister Hazel is slated to take the stage at 8:30.
