Many students noticed something different at the beginning of this semester. Some may find it hard to use and others see it as a better, smoother system. Angel beat out Blackboard as UNA's Learning Management System (LMS). What exactly brought about the change? How was the decision made? Has the change been smooth? Coordinator of Academic Technology John McGee was able to provide some insight on the reasoning behind the change and why he thinks it will be a successful step in making UNA a better learning institution.
One of the things included in President Obama's budget blueprint is an expansion of the Pell Grant program to nearly $35 billion in aid for next year. That would amount an increase of over 92 percent for the educational federal grant program since the President was inaugurated.

Every year UNA's fraternities, sororities and other student organizations join together for Step Sing, not only to have fun and entertain, but also to help the Shoals community by donating all of the show's profits to United Way. United Way is made up of 1,300 local organizations around the U.
Local charter bus company Anchor Trailways is running a daily shuttle service from the UNA campus to Nashville, Tenn.. Every Monday through Friday at 4 a.m. and 8:40 a.m., an Anchor Trailways charter bus picks up travelers bound for Nashville at the Harrison Plaza entrance of UNA.
