My time here at UNA is quickly coming to an end, and with graduation just around the comer, I have been asking myself what will be the next step in my life? I've been thinking about it, and I believe that I'm graduating at the wrong time. I've been in school for five long years and now I'm lucky enough to be graduating while the country is in a recession.
So, for my final editorial, I thought I might go in and clear a few topics I never got around to talking about: 1. Don't talk to me about how good your baseball team is in April. Hell, the Pirates are decent right now, for God's sake. This means you, Ryan Pigg (told you I would get your name in the paper).
I did it! I'm graduating! Some people have told me they wish that I would stay a little longer. While that is touching, I have to respectfully decline. I regard graduating college like being a sniper: When you've got the shot, you take it. You probably won't get another chance.
This being my last issue of The Flor-Ala and my few remaining days here at UNA, I've reflected a bit on the past four years (two of which I've spent serving said newspaper), and I've come to realize just how much I've changed since my freshman year... I've gone from writing mostly songs and poetry to writing mostly news stories and editorial columns.
